German football expert to conduct grassroots workshop

The Philippine Football Federation, in cooperation with the Davao Football Association will hold the Grassroots Program Assessment Workshop on 28 – 30 October at the Tionko Football Grounds, Bolton Riverside, Quimpo Blvd. Mr. Eckhard Krautzun of the German Football Association and German Olympic Committee will evaluate the status of the local grassroots program and conduct lectures on youth coaching; training of kids and youth players; grassroots and youth training in various group ages; talent identification; and organization and planning of a training session. He will train coaches to organize festivals and conduct training sessions with elite players.
There will be similar sessions in Cebu City (25 – 27 October); Bacolod City (11 -13 November); Barotac Nuevo (15 – 17 November); and Manila (19 – 21 November).  Mr. Krautzun will be the SEA Games PH Azkals in Jakarta on 01 – 08 November.
Mr. Krautzun coached the Philippine National Men’s football team that placed 4th in the 1991 SEA Games. This is the highest finish so far the PH men’s team in SEA Games football competitions. He also coached the Tunisian Men’s National team that qualified to the 2002 World Cup and handled the Chinese Olympic Football Team for the Beijing Olympics.
