ABS-CBN supports beach football

Television giant ABS-CBN Davao has confirmed its support for the exciting 2011 Kicksand Beach Football, the biggest beach sports event this year covering all three major islands of the country.
ABS CBN Davao marketing manager Razelle Rodriguez and F1 Event Solutions Executive Director Neil Bravo announced the agreement for media partnership a few days before the event’s Visayas leg kicks off in Boracay Island this weekend.
The Boracay leg serves as the Visayas stage of the beach football trilogy organized by the Beach Football Association of the Philippines and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Football Federation.
Subic Bay Waterfront hosted the first leg last April 16-17, La Isla Bonita Resort Boracay will take its turn this weekend while the final leg for Mindanao will be staged on June 11-12 at the scenic Bluejaz Resort and Waterpark in Samal Island.
The tournament, supported by major backers NIVEA Sun ad SEAIR, is open to all football clubs and will be part of a selection process for the men’s and women’s national beach football team. Manila FC won the men’s title and Libertas FC took the women’s crown in Subic.
BFAP President Mike Athab said that teams from Aklan, Iloilo, Bacolod and Cebu will be vying for honors in the Visayas leg in Boracay.
Meantime, 106.1 FM Radio Boracay will be the official radio partner in Boracay. This was confirmed by station manager Nigel Gamalong of Radio Boracay, the leading FM radio station in the resort island. The other media partners for Kicksand are GMTV, 105.9 Mix FM, Mindanao Daily Mirror, Sunstar Davao and Aksyon Sports Radyo TV5.

NIVEA Sun supports Kicksand beach football tournament


NIVEA Sun, the leading sun care skin protection, has signed up as major sponsor of the 2011 Kicksand
Beach Football tournament which will soon move into its southern swing in the finest resorts in Boracay
and Davao.
“We are happy to partner with NIVEA Sun for the Kicksand Beach Football series. NIVEA’s line of
products suit well with beach sports,” Beach Football Association of the Philippines (BFAP) president
Mike Athab said.
NIVEA Sun signed up for the two tournaments in Boracay and Davao through Kicksand’s marketing
group F1 Event Solutions, Inc.
Jamie Sanico, brand manager of NIVEA Sun, said NIVEA is committed to outdoor sports events like beach
football and is happy that the brand will be associated with Kicksand.
La Isla Bonita Resort will be hosting the Visayas leg in scenic Boracay on May 28-29 while Bluejaz Resort
and Waterpark in Samal Island, Davao will be the venue of the Mindanao leg on June 11-12.
The tournament, organized by the BFAP and supported by the Philippine Sports Commission and the
Philippine Football Federation, has expanded to a three-leg series covering all three islands of the
country this year.
The tournament is open to all football clubs and will be part of a selection process for the men’s and
women’s national beach football team. The Boracay leg will be the second leg of a trilogy that started in
Subic last April 16-17 with Manila FC winning the men’s title and Libertas FC taking the women’s crown.
The final leg in Mindanao will be staged on June 11-12 at the scenic Bluejaz Resort and Waterpark in
Samal Island.
