Below is a related article from the AFC:

Kuala Lumpur: AFC and Toshiba on Thursday launched 'Enjoy Football with Power TV', a corporate social responsibility campaign especially created to benefit the region’s young football fans.

The campaign is part of the AFC’s and Asean Football Federation’s (AFF) official sponsor’s efforts to promote Asian football by providing students throughout the region the opportunity to watch their football stars in action and to learn from them.

The campaign was launched in a ceremony at AFC House here by AFC General Secretary Alex Soosay and Toshiba Corporation’s Director/General Manager of Strategic Planning Division for Asia Yoshihiro Okura.

'Enjoy Football with Power TV' kicked off with the electronics giant’s pledge to donate new Toshiba Power TVs to schools across Southeast Asia based on the number of goals scored at the recent AFF Suzuki Cup, the top-rated regional football championship in Asean which was held on 1-29 December last year.

Totally 102 sets of Power TV -- double the number of goals scored in 18 matches in the said championship -- are being presented to schools in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam through their respective national football associations.

Okura said: “We believe that school students can benefit from the 'Enjoy Football with Power TV' campaign.  The availability of televisions in schools will give students the opportunity to learn football skills and tactics, and to be exposed to other educational programmes which will contribute towards their academic achievements.

“This campaign is also in line with our corporate philosophy that is firmly entrenched in the concept of ‘Committed to People, Committed to the Future’.  We believe in contributing to the countries and regions in which we operate by supporting programmes that promote social welfare and community development.”
Added Okura: “We are very pleased to work with the AFC and support the goals and achievements of their projects which are instrumental in supporting the interests of youth across Asia.”

The AFC plans to further strengthen its partnership with Toshiba through its own CSR programme Dream Asia which focuses on social and community outreach.

Soosay said: “We are honoured to work with Toshiba in this programme as it is in tandem with our own outreach initiative, the AFC Dream Asia project. This is a viable platform to encourage people to watch and participate in football.

“The contribution of the Power TVs to the students signifies Toshiba’s commitment to nurture a sound young generation through the power of TV and football.”

“AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam always emphasises on the importance of social responsibility and the AFC has partnered with many NGOs to pursue this social cause.

“Therefore we would like to thank our corporate partner Toshiba for this meaningful gesture and hope we will expand our relationship further through this kind of programme,” he said.

Toshiba’s Power TV series features an “Auto Signal Booster” that improves signal sensitivity and enables viewing in areas with weak signal strengths.  It also enhances the viewing experience with 20w high powered audio speakers.
